2024.12.22 HAT International Annual Congress

In the past 30 years, most developments in minimally invasive surgery have focused on laparoscopic surgery. However, I want to emphasize that the future of minimally invasive surgery lies in hysteroscopy. The advancements in hysteroscopy over the next 10 years will surpass the developments seen in laparoscopy. It will evolve from minimally invasive surgery to minimally invasive examinations and diagnostics. With the widespread adoption and progress of hysteroscopy over the next decade, the diagnosis and prevention of gynecological diseases will enter a new phase.
Understanding the endometrium through hysteroscopy is the first step. Obstetricians and gynecologists cannot rely solely on imprecise ultrasound, microscopic diagnostics controlled by pathologists, or molecular genetic diagnostics. Obstetrics and gynecology need a real-time, more accurate diagnostic tool to understand the endometrium. If we can grasp the condition of the endometrium in real time, we can optimize the timing for infertility treatments and increase the chances of successful implantation and pregnancy. Being able to monitor the endometrium in real time can also help prevent cancer and enable early detection and diagnosis, thereby improving the success rate of cancer treatment.
Therefore, "hysteroscopy" will become a prominent field in the next 10 to 20 years. Gynecologists must understand the endometrium, and to understand the endometrium, they must be proficient in hysteroscopy. The establishment of the Hysteroscopy Society aims to advance this field. For the 2024 Annual Hysteroscopy Society Meeting, we are expanding it into an international conference to further refine our expertise. By inviting the world's leading hysteroscopy experts to Taiwan and Asia to share their experiences, I hope that within a few years, the level of hysteroscopy in Asia will rise to the top of the world, benefiting countless women and families.
Wishing everyone peace and well-being.
